Organization
The Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese is treated as one single archdiocese spanning two countries, with the Archbishop in Australia and a Deanery for New Zealand. There are 23 parishes and missions across Australia, 7 parishes and missions in the Deanery of New Zealand, and the Archdiocese also has one female monastery of St Anna in Victoria, and runs the Melbourne Institute of Orthodox Christian Studies, with the collaboration of the ROCOR Dean of Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia and the priest of the Moscow Patriarchate parish in Melbourne. The Institute does not intend to present itself as another theological college for priests, but rather where Orthodox in Melbourne can gain some education in their faith.
The Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia and New Zealand was also a founding member of SCCOCA, although SCCOCA has been completely inactive for many years.
