His Grace Right Reverend Nestor (Sirotenko) of Kaffa, vicar bishop of the Diocese of Korsun, which serves the parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in France, Spain, Switzerland, and Portugal.
Life
Born on September 4, 1974 in Moscow, Evgeny Yurievich Sirotenko began his higher education as a student at the Historical-Archival Institute of the Russian State University of the Humanities in 1991. He graduated in 1995. During the same period, he worked in the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of the Russian Federation, as well served as an acolyte in the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Peredelkino, the site of the Patriarchal country residence. In 1995, he entered the Moscow Theological Seminary.
Choosing a monastic life, Evgeny was tonsured a monk on March 28, 1998 with name Nestor. On April 24, 1998, he entered the Holy Orders with his ordination as a hierodeacon. On November 29, 1999, he was ordained a hieromonk.
In 1999, he entered the Moscow Theological Academy, but was soon sent to the St. Sergius Institute in Paris, France as an extern of the Moscow Academy. While attending St. Sergius Institute, Fr. Nestor served the parishes of the Russian Archbishopric of the Constantinople Patriarchate in Western Europe. In 2001, Fr. Nestor was appointed by Archbishop Sergei (Konovalov) as rector of the Church of Christ the Savior in the town of Asnières, France. In 2004, he graduated from the Theological Institute.
On March 26, 2004, Fr. Nestor was assigned by the Holy Synod of the Moscow Patriarchate to the service of Archbishop Innokenty of Korsun, who on May 10, 2004 appointed him to serve in the Cathedral Church of the Three Holy Hierarchs in Paris. On January 15, 2008, Fr. Nestor was appointed dean of the parishes of the Diocese of Korsun in France. Prior to Pascha of 2008, Fr. Nestor was raised to the rank of Igumen and, on June 1, 2008, he was appointed rector of the Cathedral Church of the Three Holy Hierarchs.
In February 2008, Archbishop Innokenty of Korsun appointed Igumen Nestor the lead of the Korsun diocese working group charged with building a new cathedral church in Paris. In 2009, he was appointed head of the disciplinary council, and instructor of pastoral theology in the Orthodox Seminary of Epinay-sous-Senart.
On May 31, 2010, Fr. Nestor was elected by the Holy Synod of the Church of Russia to be a vicar bishop of the Korsun Diocese with the title of Bishop of Kaffa. On August 28, 2010, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia raised him to the rank of archimandrite.
