Kyrillos (Misiakoulis) of Kifissia, Amaroussion and Oropos

His Eminence Kyrillos (Misiakoulis) of Kifissia, Amaroussion and Oropos is the Metropolitan of the Metropolis of Kifissia, Amaroussion and Oropos under the jurisdiction of the Church of Greece. The metropolis is located in the northern suburbs of Athens, Greece. He has been metropolitan since 2010.

Life

Constantine Misiakoulis was born in 1963. He completed his general education in Athens before entering the law and theology faculties of the University of Athens. After his graduation he held a law position in Athens with the Legal Services Administration of the Greek State from 1988 to 1990. Then, from 1990 to March 1993 he served in the Legal Service of the then newly established Economic Service of the Church of Greece.

On October 3, 1991, Constantine was tonsured a monk at the Asomaton Petrakis Monastery with the name Kyrillos by Archbishop Seraphim of Athens. On October 4, he was ordained a deacon by Bishop Timothy of Corfu and Paxos]]. On November 28, 1993, Dcn. Kyrillos was ordained a priest by Bishop Timothy and joined the clergy of the Archdiocese of Athens.

After his ordination to the clergy, Fr. Kyrillos served as deacon at the Churches St. Irene on Aiolou Street and St. Spyridon at Pagrati, as chaplain at the Churches of St. George and St. Charalambous at Kynosargous. From 1993 to 2003, he was Secretary of the Dogmatic and Synodical Committee. Then, from 2003 to 2006 as secretary of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. From 2006 to 2008 he was chancellor of the Holy Synod and, from 2008 to 2010, Archimandrite Kyrillos served as Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod.

In May 2010, Archim. Kyrillos was elected to the episcopate by the Holy Synod. He was consecrated Metropolitan of the Metropolis of Kifissia, Amaroussion and Oropos on May 14, 2010.
