Old Testament Prophets series |
---|
The Holy Prophet Nahum, or "Naum" in Greek, is the seventh of the Twelve Minor Prophets. He was born of the Tribe of Symeon, and according to Saints Jerome and Cyril of Alexandria, he hailed from Galilee. He was active in prophetic ministry in approximately 660 B.C.
His name is interpreted as meaning "consolation" or "comfort".
