Apostolos Makrakis

Apostolos Makrakis (1831-1905) was a Greek lay theologian and philosopher. He was born in 1831 on Siphnos Island in the village of Katavati, and died on December 25, 1905 in Athens. His bust is in the square bearing his name at the entrance of the village. He is buried in his family chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary's Annunciation.
