The '''Metropolis of Chios''' , (Gr:Χίος) , is under one of the metropolises of the New Lands in Greece that are within the [[jurisdiction ]] of the [[Church of Constantinople]] but de facto are administered for practical reasons as part of the [[Church of Greece]]under an agreement between the churches of Athens and Constantinople. The [[diocese|metropolis]] is located among the islands off the coast of Turkey.  The metropolis manages many of Christianities oldest monuments, dating as early as 993AD, and which adorn the island of Chios, including the UNESCO protected site of Nea Moni.
