Serapheim (Stefanou) of Stagoi

His Eminence Serapheim (Stefanou) of Stagoi and Meteora is the Metropolitan of the Metropolis of Stagoi and Meteora under the jurisdiction of the Church of Greece. The metropolis is located in Thessaly in Greece.

Life

Serapheim (Stefanou) was born in 1932 in Fanari, Karditsa. After studies in theology Serapheim entered the Holy Orders of the Church of Greece. He was ordained a deacon in 1965 and then a priest the following year, 1966.

In 1970, Father Serapheim was elected to the episcopacy and was consecrated the Metropolitan of Trikki and Stagoi on May 31, 1970. In 1991, Metr. Serapheim was elected and enthroned as metropolitan of the Metropolis of Stagoi and Meteora that had been partitioned off the Metropolis of Trikki and Stagoi.
