The Metropolis of Filippoi, Neapolis and Thassos is part of the Church of Greece.

History

According to the Acts of the Apostles, the history of the Church in this region stretches back to the Apostle Paul and his disciples Silas, Timothy, and Luke when they visited Neapolis and founded the first church in Philippi around 50 AD. These events are narrated by the Evangelist Luke in the 16th chapter of his gospel.
