A Megalynarion is a short magnificatory hymn (hence the name) of a particular saint or feast.
The most common megalynarion is the one used during the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, and done just after the consecration of the Holy Gifts:
- More honourable than the Cherubim,
- and incomparably more glorious than the Seraphim,
- who undefiled gave birth to God the Word,
- true Theotokos, we magnify you.
- -- as used by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.
