Template:Diocese

This template adds an information box to articles about dioceses, archdioceses, metropolises and other territorial divisions of a Church. Put it at the very top of the article. For autocephalous and autonomous Churches, use Template:Church.

Every field is optional; rows with no value are not shown. If name is left out, the page name is used.

Some older articles put the logo inside name, e.g. name=Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Switzerland[[Image:Switzerland logo.gif|center|Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Switzerland]]. This still works, but new articles should use image instead.

Editing this template

Each field is one table row of three lines:

The #if at the end of the first line hides the row when the field is empty. To add a field, copy a row and change the label and the field name in both places. The box's size, border and background are set once, on the first line ({|). Template:Church uses the same layout; keep the two matching.

Parameters

name	header	Defaults to the page name.
image	picture	The diocese's logo or coat of arms. File name only, without File:.
image_size		Defaults to 150px.
alt		Alt text for the image, for readers who cannot see it.
caption	text under the picture
jurisdiction	Jurisdiction	The Church the diocese belongs to, e.g. [[Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia|ROCOR]]
type	Diocese type	e.g. Diocese, Archdiocese, Metropolis, Exarchate
founded	Founded	Year.
bishop	Current bishop	Link to the bishop's article.
see	See(s)	The city or cities of the bishop's see.
hq	Headquarters	City and country.
territory	Territory	Countries or regions covered.
language	Liturgical language(s)
music	Musical tradition	e.g. [[Russian Chant]]
calendar	Calendar	e.g. [[Julian Calendar|Julian]]
population	Population (est.)	Add a source.
