His Grace Bishop Silouan (Fotineas) of Sinope is a hierarch of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
He was born in Australia and graduated from Saint Andrew’s Orthodox Theological School in Sidney in 2001. In 2002 he was ordained to the priesthood in Brisbane and since 2006 he has been the priest of the Holy Monastery of Saint Nectarios in Adelaide.
He is currently on the executive council of the South Australian Council of Churches and a board member of the Greek Welfare Centre S.A. His research interests include Patristics, Ecclesiology and Church History of Late Antiquity.
In December 2019 he was elected assistant bishop of the Archbishop of Australia with the ancient title of bishop of Sinope. On 19 January 2020 he was ordained bishop in the Orthodox Cathedral in Sidney.
