His Eminence Simeon of Kazan was the twelfth metropolitan of the Eparchy of Kazan and Sviyazhsk of the Church of Russia in the seventeenth century, serving from 1646 to 1649.

Life

Little is known of the life of Metropolitan Simeon. He was of Serbian origin and was appointed to the see of Kazan on February 7, 1646, succeeding Metr. Matthew who had reposed on January 13, 1646. Metr. Simeon died on September 26, 1649 and was buried in the Kazan Annunciation cathedral at the north wall.
