The Metropolis of Korinthos (Gr:Κόρινθος, Kórinthos), Sikyonos, Zemenou, Tarsou and Polyfeggous is under the jurisdiction of the Church of Greece.

Metropolitan

The Metropolitan of Korinth, Siyonos, Zemenou, Tarou and Polyfeggous is His Eminence Metropolitan Dionysios (Mantalos) was ellected October 15,2006 and consecrated November 26, 2006.

History

This history of the Church in Korinth is integral with the Bible and especially with St. Paul. St. Paul visited Korinth in ca. 51 AD, staying for almost two years and during this time the church enjoyed growth, with even an Epistle dedicated to this church. The presence of Peter in Korinth is less certain although probable. The closest evidence in favour of this is in [I Corinthians 9:5],[1] where it is presupposed that the Korinthians knew that he traveled about with his wife.
