Cosmas of Kazan

His Eminence Cosmas of Kazan was the seventh Archbishop of the Diocese of Kazan of the Church of Russia from 1581 to 1583.

Life

Little is known of the life of Abp. Cosmas. He was appointed abbot of Kyrillo-Belozersky Monastery in Novgorod Russia on September 2, 1572. On October 29, 1581, he was consecrated Archbishop of Kazan. He apparently remained at Kazan for only a short time as he died at Kyrillo-Belozersky Monastery in 1583.
