About Me

I'm an inquirer at Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church (OCA) with Fr. Robert in Maynard, MA, US. I've also been active in digital rights work, for example with One Laptop Per Child and the Free Software Foundation, and am very used to editing (and admining) Mediawikis. I'd like an account because I keep running across outdated links in pages that are of interest to inquirers, and then finding either the old pages via archive.org or the new locations (esp. for example with the links to prayer books), and I'd like to be able to update such links in the wiki. As an inquirer I would limit myself to purely practical updates like this; I have no illusions that my theological knowledge is enough to edit any text pertaining to theology. For anything more than obvious spelling/typographical corrections and broken links, I would plan to post to the talk page.

Father's Advice

(Paraphrased from notes, not direct quotes.)

  • Don't be afraid to change up prayers; find ones that speak to you.
  • Commit to prayers; stay engaged while saying them. Better a small number said consistently and with attention than a large number you just slog through.
