Vladimir (secular name Maurice Roman); (Greek)
Ο Βλαντιμίρ, Επίσκοπος της Ιεράς Πόλεως Κλάσης και του νησιού Αγίου Ιουλίου της Αίγινας) is the Bishop of Civitas Classis Classis-Ravenna and St. Julius Island ordeined under the Jurisdiction of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Kyiv Patriarchate in December 19th 1995.
Life
Vladyka Vladimir (Maurice Roman) was born in Milan in 1962. He is an Archeologist by background, having studied the History of Classical Antiquity, Archeology, Byzantine History and History of the Church. He wrote his dissertation in Byzantine Canon and Civil Law at the Institute of Byzantine History (Dafist) at a prestigious Italian university
As a young boy, he was part of a parish of the Russian Orthodox Church - Moscow Patriarchate [1] directed by Archimandrite Evloghij.
He was tonsured rasophore monk in 1984 than lector, subdeacon - later in 1985 was ordained deacon and priest as Hieromonk (by Bishop Evloghij of Milan), later in 1992 he became Hegumen, in 1993 Kathegumen and in 1995 Archimandrite.
Metropolita Evloghios consecrated Vladika Vladimir as bishop of St. Julius Island (in Orta San Giulio) with Archbishop Vigile of Paris and Bishop Vassilij of Osta.
