The American Orthodox Institute is a research and educational organization that engages the cultural issues of the day within the Orthodox Christian moral tradition. Though it may be described as a "think tank," it is not a political organization but rather has as its purpose the direct engagement with culture, of which politics is only one element. Its director is Fr. Hans Jacobse, a priest of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and the editor of the Orthodoxy Today website.
The Institute publishes an occasional journal, The Clarion Review.
