Template:Saint

This template adds an information box to articles about saints, in the style of Wikipedia's saint infobox. Put it at the very top of the article. Every field is optional; rows with no value are not shown.

Editing this template

Each field is one table row of three lines:

The #if at the end of the first line hides the row when the field is empty. To add a field, copy a row and change the label and the field name in both places. The box's size, border and background are set once, on the first line ({|). Template:Church, Template:Diocese, Template:Parish and Template:Saint use the same layout; keep them matching.

Parameters

Parameter	Shown as	Notes
honorific_prefix	small text above the name	e.g. Saint, Holy Hieromartyr
name	header	Defaults to the page name.
native_name	small text below the name	Name in the saint's own language and script.
image	picture	File name only, without File:.
image_size		Defaults to 220px.
alt		Alt text for the image, for readers who cannot see it.
caption	text under the picture
titles	Titles	e.g. Equal of the Apostles, Hieromartyr, Wonderworker
birth_date, birth_place	Born
death_date, death_place	Reposed
martyred		Set to yes for a martyr: the death row is then labelled Martyred instead of Reposed.
venerated_in	Venerated in	e.g. Eastern Orthodox Church, Oriental Orthodox Churches
glorified	Glorified	Date, place and by whom the saint was glorified (canonized).
major_shrine	Major shrine	Where the relics are kept or the main place of pilgrimage.
feast_day	Feast	Link the date, e.g. [[September 30]]. Add the Old Calendar date if useful.
attributes	Attributes	How the saint is shown in icons.
patronage	Patronage
major_works	Major works	For saints who were writers.
