His Holiness Dimitrije (Pavlović)('''Његова светост Димитрије патријарх српски''') was first Patriarch of all Serbs after 1766.
== Early life ==
He was born in Požarevac 1846, into family of Stojan and Milosava Pavlović. He finished primary and high school in Belgrade. He graduated in Old Seminary in Belgrade 1868. He was teacher until 1870, when he is ordained presbyter and chaplan in Lapovo.
Becoming widover widower 1873, he continued his education in Belgrade University (in this times ''Grand School'') . He graduated from philology. Fr. Dimitrije was teacher in Belgrade Seminary from 1878 to 1884.
November 8, 1884, he is elected Bishop of Niš, as part of so-called ''uncanonical hierarchy''. He remained this see until 1898. When Metropoliten Metropolitan Mihilo came back in Serbia, all bishops from uncanonical hierarchy retiered their sees. Bishop Dimitrije left for France wher he was continued his studies.
Bp. Dimitrije came back in Serbia 1899, and became State advisor and later Bishop of Šabac.
