His Beatitude Nicholas VI of Alexandria was the Pope and Patriarch of the Church of Alexandria from 1968 to 1986.
Nicholas (Valeropoulos) was born in February 1915. Bishop Nicholas was the first [[bishop] enthroned in the newly formed Metropolis of Irinoupolis, in 1959, that supported the Orthodox missionary activity in East Africa consisting of the countries of Kenya, Tazmania, and Uganda. He was elected patriarch on May 10, 1968.
Patr. Nicholas VI took a strong stand against the popular religious position of ecumenicalism, considering it not only a heresy but a pan-heresy.
