Consecration

Consecration may refer to three different liturgical acts:

• Consecration of the Eucharist at the Divine Liturgy
• Consecration of a bishop to make a priest into a bishop
• Consecration of a church to bless a church for use
• Consecration of oil (chrism/myrrh)

• Consecration may also be used to refer to the setting aside of a person into monasticism
