In 1898 1924, the first parishes - by now, Greek Orthodox parish was established, named after in character as well as in name - were formed into a metropolis under the [[Holy TrinityChurch of Constantinople]]. Communities In 1959, the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Australia and New Zealand was elevated to Archdiocese, and Metropolitan Ezekiel elevated to Archbishop with it. In 1970, due to the growing size and needs of the Archdiocese, Australia and New Zealand were originally supplied with priests from split into the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia and the [[Church Greek Orthodox Metropolis of JerusalemNew Zealand]]. In 1974 Abp Ezekiel was promoted to the Metropolis of Pisidia, and later the current Archbishop, [[Church Stylianos (Harkianakis) of GreeceAustralia|Stylianos (Harkianakis)]], was elected on 13 February 1974 and there enthroned on 26 April, 1975. In 1977, Fr Ezekiel was no attempt consecrated to organise the communities into episcopacy, becoming the titular bishop of Dervis.
