In 1993, Archbishop [[Gibran (Rimlawi) of Australia and New Zealand|Gibran of Australia and New Zealand]], Fr Dimitri Baroudi and Dcn Nabil organised a Forum at St Nicholas, most of whom were priests. This forum inspired many conversions from the Anglican Church ===Move to the Orthodox, usually finding a home at St. Nicholas. The Right Reverend Archimandrite '''Nabil (Kachab)''' is the Dean of St. George Cathedral, Sydney; the Vicar-General of the [[Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia and New Zealand]]; and the co-ordinator of St. Paul's Theological Course of Studies in Sydney.
==Biography==Previous to the priesthood, Fr Nabil was president of St Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, Melbourne. After this, he was ordained to the diaconate in 1993, then serving at St Nicholas. This made him the first person in the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese to have been elevated to Archimandrite in Australia. During this time, he served continued to serve at St Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church.
Archimandrite Nabil, with Fr [[Dimitri Baroudi]] (priest of St Nicholas 1990-present), reinvigorated the Sunday School, established a youth group and a senior citizen's group, and had strong representation of the Antiochian Orthodox Church in a number of inter-faith forums. In 1999, Archim. Nabil was elected president of the Victorial Council of Churches, the first Orthodox to do so.
After 2002<!-- anyone know when exactly? -->, Archim. Nabil moved to Sydney to continue his work with parishes in Sydney, and was made Vicar-General of the Archdiocese. On the [[August 28|28th of August]], 2005, Archimandrite Nabil was appointed Dean of St. George Cathedral, replacing Fr Nicholas Mansour who had retired due to illness.
