The Right Reverend '''Sava (Rayevsky)''' was the second [[bishop]] of the [[Diocese of Australia and New Zealand (ROCOR)|Diocese of Australia and New Zealand]] within the [[Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia]]. Abp. Sava served until his retirement in 1971. He reposed on [[April 17]], 1976(os).

===Early life===
* 1892 Feb 10: Theodore Feodorovich Raevsky born in Efmenov, Russia, to Theodore Sr, public servant and property manager, and Alexandra, who came from a priestly family.
* 1911: Graduated from Tula Theological Seminary. Then enrolled in history and philosophy section of the School of Jurisprudence at Warsaw University.
*1934: Wrote research thesis, ''Symbolic Books in the Anglican-Episcopalian Church'', for which he received a Royal Grant of 1000 gold dinars. The thesis was serialised in Bogoslovie (Belgrade University publication) and later published as a book.
*1935-41: Theodore taught catechism at Fifth Women's Gymnasium, Belgrade, until the German occupation. Had a reputation here was being a popular teacher, fluent in Russian, Serbian and Polish.
 
===Clerical life===
*1941 Oct 22: Applied to be ordained to the diaconate (as WW2 had a deep effect on his life priorities).
*1942 Mar 25: Ordained to the priesthood by Metr. [[Anastasy (Gribanovsky) of New York|Anastasy (Gribanovsky)]]. Assigned to Holy Trinity Russian Church, Belgrade, and to assist at the Ecclesiastical Court (to use his legal knowledge).
*1954 Jan 14: Tonsured, with the name of Sava (after St [[Sava of Serbia]]).
*1954 Jan 17: Elevated to Archimandrite.
 
===Episcopal service===
*1954 Jan 18: Consecrated bishop at Ascension Cathedral, New York, by Metr. Anastasy and seven other bishops.
*1954 Jul 22: Sailed to Australia aboard the Huon. Wrote articles on his six-week voyage, which were published in Russian language newspapers in America and were aired on Voice of America.
*1969: Abp Athanasy (Martos) appointed to rule the diocese. Abp Sava given the title of 'Representative of the Synod of Bishops'. Abp Athanasy ratified the minutes, and he was removed from his post within 12 months. Abp Nikon, as First Deputy President of the Synod, went to Australia to invite Bp [[Theodosius (Putilin) of Sydney|Theodosy (Putilin)]] of Melbourne to become diocesan bishop.
*1976 Apr 17: Abp Sava reposed, victim of a stroke, while giving an interview to a local Russian radio program. His passing was mourned by the Russian community in Australia and elsewhere, and the Serbian Church, the NSW State Parliament and the Prime Minister joined in honouring his life.
