According to several pages on the internet, it appears that Walter Myron Propheta was not consecrated as a hierarch by Bohdan Shpylka. There are pages which say that Propheta was ordained to the priesthood by Shpylka. "In 1936 the Ecumenical Patriarch accepted the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in America under his omophorion and in 1937 Bishop Bohdan (Spylka) was consecrated as bishop of the diocese." —[http://www.uocofusa.org/history/] Alternate spellings of Bohdan Shpylka include Spylka and Shpilka. It appears that he was born in the Ukraine on February 12, 1892, and died in Ottawa, Canada, on November 1, 1965 [http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~cdobie/oj-19651105.htm].

Archbishop Propheta had been ordained to the holy Priesthood by Bishop Bohdan T. Shpilka of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on May 15,1933.'' —[http://www.mrtrid.com/succession.html] "(The information contained in this section is taken from the book Christ Unto Byzantium by Archbishop Mark Karras. Shpilka (consecrated in New York in 1937 by order of the Ecumenical Patriarch; Archpriest Walter Myron Propheta [AOC Primate V] was Metr. Bohdan's Chancellor), who was succeeded in December 1966 by Metropolitan-Primate Andrei Kuschak (consecrated by order of the Ecumenical Patriarch).'' —[http://www.geocities.com/houstonminister/annex.html] "The Apostolic Succession of Bishop Louis N. Bernhardt, O.S.A. of Houston, Texas USA." This source says that it is related to the "Diocese of Houston - Anglican Rite."

:''Archbishop Joachim Souris with Bishop Stanislaus De Witow consecrated Archbishop Walter Propheta for the American Orthodox Church as all participants held the [[Aftimios Ofiesh|Aftimios]] lines of succession holding to and maintaining, according to their nature and degree of ability, Orthodox spirituality.'' —[http://www.apostle1.com/aoc-history1.htm] - This source says that it is related to the "American Orthodox Church."

:''Archbishop JOACHIM (Souris) with Bishop STANISLAUS (De Witow) consecrated Archbishop WALTER (Propheta) for the American Orthodox Catholic Church who conscrated Bishop DAVID (Baxter) on October 12, 1969 for the Orthodox Church of America.'' —[http://www.ourchurch.com/view/?pageID=26392] - This source says that it is related to the "Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church: Standing Episcopal Conference" and the "Autonomous Ukrainian Orthodox Church in America."
