==Biographical sketch==
{{stub}}In 1998 he was elected deputy rector of the Holy Cross Monastery<ref>http://www.christianforums.com/t7584402/</ref>.*In 2003: (At this time, Fr Seraphim was already a [[hieromonk]] and the superior at the [[Hermitage of the Holy Cross (Wayne, West Virginia)|Hermitage]].*2008 Oct 14: Hmk 2008 hieromonk Seraphim elevated to Hegumen.*In 2009: Hermitage of the Holy Cross became an independent monastery. Bp George (who was already both the spiritual father of the monastery and in residence at the monastery) was made abbot; Hegumen Seraphim was made deputy abbot.*In 2011: Fr Seraphim diagnosed with kidney cancer*. In 2012: Fr Seraphim diagnosed with squamous cell cancer in his right tonsil. Subsided in 2012, reappeared in Oct 2013.*In 2014: With the financial aid of the [[Fund For Assistance]], Fr Seraphim underwent multiple aggressive rounds of chemotherapy. He returned to serving at Pascha 2014.*In 2015: With Bp George's transfer to the Australian and New Zealand Diocese, Fr Seraphim to become abbot.
