Talk:Raphael Morgan

This was not an easy article to make. Fr Raphael is listed as Very Rev, because I have no idea what his actual priestly rank is.

Also, I don't know which Alexandrian Church the West African AOC joined. Mishakaz 03:28, June 26, 2009 (UTC)

It was the Church of Alexandria (for Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania).

List of References in Source

The following source has a one paragraph footnote about Fr. Raphael Morgan; much of the information already seems to be covered in this article. However, it does list a series of sources for its information, which I have included below for verification / research purposes:

A possible focus for further research??

Althought it is definitely a longshot at best, since:

1) the very last records we have of Fr. Raphael Morgan date to 1916 only, and
2) there is a parishioner's account that he left for Jerusalem (never to return), and
3) in light for the conversion of 1000's theory descibed in the article, and
4) because Fr. Raphael had missioned in Africa before, and was widely travelled: ---

---I WONDER if there would be possibly any records in Africa where the trail of Fr. Raphael can be picked up? Perhaps in the Church of Alexandria, or in any records that the Archdioceses of Kenya, Uganda or Tanzania may have? Although historian Manolis' investigation looked into the archives of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Church of Greece, and the Archdiocese of North and South America (the later two having no records), the Church of Alexandria was understandably not looked into. But seeing as Fr. Rapahel "went missing" from the pages of history after 1916, either the Church of Alexandria, or even the Church of Jerusalem might be a spot for further inquiries for any willing researchers.

Needless to say another focal point for a research would be to examine any archives for George Alexander McGuire (1866-1934), and of William Daniel Alexander of South Africa, for any connection.

Monastic settlements of the Greek Orthodox Church of Jerusalem is another idea that comes to mind. At any rate, thought I would share these ideas. We shall see what the apparently upcoming publication on Fr. Raphael from St. Vladimir's Seminary has to say. Cheers. Angellight 888 03:16, July 27, 2009 (UTC)

Photograph of Fr. Raphael

The photograph in the article comes from the following source, but I cannot edit the picture to add the information because it is listed on the main page currently. Could someone please edit the photo eventually and add this information as to the date and source:
