Article generally

Reason for cleanup tag: this article definitely needs to be moved in accordance with standard OW names, and needs to be renamed (because it seems to, though I can't be sure, be talking exclusively about the Gospel to the Hebrews), and to have sources in-text. — edited by Pιsτévο talk complaints at 03:21, August 15, 2006 (CDT)

Renaming/moving

Sorry, I moved this article without reading it thoroughly enough first. The only part of the original article I preserved here is the paragraph about Constantine. Relevant parts about the Gospel of the Hebrews have been moved to an article of that name. Frankly, most of the text of this article was just heretical, and so I deleted most of it. For example, most of the sources from the long passage are from Origen (officially a heretic) or Clement of Alexandria (who had heretical tendencies, if he was never formally anathemized). Secondly, even wikipedia w:Gospel of the Hebrews says that little of the text has been preserved, so I'm not sure where that long passage reconstructing it line-by-line came from. Finally, this is an encyclopedia, a summary. Entire texts aren't meant to be posted here.

Sorry if I offend; I don't mean to scare you off. Just trying to explain my editing. Gabriela 23:09, August 15, 2006 (CDT)
