17Aug's Orthodoxize and Cleanup

This article has had two tags reinstated: Orthodoxize and Cleanup.

  • Orthodoxizing is required to rewrite this article from a MCB point of view, including: Background from a MCB point of view, including the avoidance of such lines as "a small group of Jews...started to claim that...Jesus was the...Messiah"; Diverse views of the Early Church, which should be rearranged and (perhaps) rewritten; and Constantine the Great, which does not currently hold enough information to be a seperate sub-header from the rest of the history.
  • Cleanup is required for: Sources, which is currently (as far as I can tell) not in any stated order; and Writings of the Church Fathers, which is also not in any obvious order - is it meant to be a reconstruction of the Gospel?.

IMHO, I think that the article would be greatly improved with being sorted into clearly-defined sections (History, Groups, Reconstruction (assuming my guess is correct) and Sources). Controversial issues must be dealt with, but due to the controversy it must, imho, be precise and unconfusing. — edited by Pιsτévο talk complaints at 04:15, August 17, 2006 (CDT)

I vote for deletion

To Papas: this section about "diverse views in the Church" and much of the article is just plain heretical. It implies that the Gospel of Matthew that we have is some kind of knock-off, second rate when compared to the supposedly "authentic" Gospel of the Hebrews. Where in the world did you get this politically correct nonsense? Gabriela 16:55, August 17, 2006 (CDT)
