The '''Antiochian Orthodox Deanery of the United Kingdom and Ireland''' is a part of the [[Diocese Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of Western and Central Europe (Antiochian)|Diocese Archdiocese of Western and Central Europe]] of the headed by [[Church of Antioch]]. On June 17, 2008, the Holy Synod of Antioch has elected His Eminence John (YazijiYazigi), former [[Titular bishopof Western Europe|Titular Bishop]] of al-Hosn, as [[Metropolitan]] John (Yazigi) of Western and Central Europe. His enthronement is scheduled to take place in Paris, France, on September 20-21, 2008]].
The [[deanDean]] is Fr. Michael Harper, who has been functioning as Patriarchal [[Vicar]] was appointed in April 1996. He was elevated to the United Kingdom and Ireland during the vacancy rank of the episcopacy of the dioceseArchpriest in 2006.
The deanery Deanery includes twelve full [[parish]]es (including a [[cathedral]] in London), as well as six missions. Most of the communities, with the exception of the cathedral, consist largely of converts from the Church of England.
