The [[skete]] was founded in 1979 under the [[Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia]], then later affiliated with a Greek [[Old Calendarists|Old Calendarist]] jurisidiction, followed by a Russian one (the [[Russian Orthodox Autonomous Church]]), and is now the headquarters of the [[Genuine Orthodox Church of America]], an independent group which recognizes the Orthodoxy of only itself and the [[Genuine Orthodox Church of Greece (Lamian Synod ofArchbishop Makarios of Athens, who heads the true )|Genuine Orthodox Church ofGreece]], with which it is in communion.
