Born in LatakiaMetropolitan Basilios is the Metropolitan of the [[Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, SyriaNew Zealand and the Philippines|Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of Australia, to George (reposed Dec 2014<ref>http://www.antiochianarch.org.au/NewsItemNew Zealand and dependencies]].aspx?i=524</ref>)and his wife, the future  Metropolitan studied engineering at Teshreen University, graduating Basilios was born in 1999 Syria where he graduated with a Bachelor of Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.  He then went on to study at continued his higher education in St . John of Damascus Institute of Theology theology at the University of Balamand(Lebanon), Lebanongraduating with a Master’s Degree in Theology in 2003. He went on to continue his theological education in Greece, where he graduated with a Master of Doctorate (PhD) in Theology in 2003.  In the same year2012, he was ordained to founded the diaconateSt. Raphael Antiochian Mission, before being ordained to a philanthropic body that services the priesthood needs of Sydney’s homeless, specifically serving food, clothing and social support on a weekly basis and elevated to Archimandrite during major holidays. He has received formal training in 2005 by Metr [[Paul (Yazigi) counselling and community welfare, completing several courses through the University of Aleppo|Paul Sydney’s Centre for Continuing Education, as well as through the Centre for Community Welfare Training (YazigiCCWT) of Aleppo]], and serving in that diocese as Archdiocesan Vicar until 2010.
He continued his Within Australia, he has lectured at several theological education and pastoral conferences and symposiums, and has served as the chief lecturer at St. Paul’s Course for the Aristotle University of ThessalonikiAntiochian Archdiocese, Greece, attaining also appearing as a Phguest lecturer at St. Cyril’s Coptic Orthodox Theological College.DIn 2016, he obtained his teaching accreditation from Australia’s leading Orthodox seminary, St. in Theology in 2008 within the Department of Pastoral Care and Christian EthicsAndrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College.

During his time thereThrice-Blessed Memory, he transformed their youth and adult education programs. He also founded St Raphael Antiochian Mission in the same year he was assigned there - this Mission was a philanthropic body appointed as Patriarchal Vicar, serving until his recent election as Metropolitan of the needs Antiochian Archdiocese of Sydney's homeless by serving food and distributing clothing and social support each week Australia, New Zealand and on major holidaysdependencies.
Fr Basil had many achievements during his time as a priest of the Antiochian Archdiocese. He was a trained volunteer in palliative care, via Calvary Hospital, and continued formal training in counselling and community welfare, completing several courses through consecrated to the University of Sydney's Centre for Continuing Education and through the Centre for Community Welfare Training. In Holy Episcopacy on November 201419th, Fr Basil participated in 2017 at the inaugural NSW Religious Leaders' Forum on behalf Lady of Balamand, Lebanon.
