Bishop '''Andriy (Peshko) of Krateia''' is an [[auxiliary bishop]] of the [[Ecumenical Patriarchate]] of Constantinople. He is the presiding [[bishop ]] for the Ukrainian Eparchy of Western Europe. At the [[Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada]] Sobor of August 22-24, he was elected ''Bishop of Saskatoon, and [[Vicar ]] of the Central Eparchy'', of that Church. He currently resides in Winnipeg, the Metropolitan [[See ]] of the UOCC, and awaits ratification of his election.
==Life==
Bishop Andriy was born ''Bohdan Peshko'' on [[April 27]], 1972 in Ukraine. He graduated from completed his secondary education in 1989, after which he entered the St. Petersburg Theological Seminary from which he graduated in 1993. During the years 1994/1995, following which he undertook a year of postgraduate study at [[Christ the Saviour Seminary (Johnstown, Pennsylvania)|Christ the Saviour Seminary]] in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He completed his graduate work studies at the Kyiv Kiev Theological Academy, receiving a Master's degree in 1999.
Bohdan next then returned to the United States, where he was ordained a [[deacon]] at St. Volodymyr's Cathedral in Chicago by Archbishop [[Vsevolod (Maidansky) of Scopelos|Vsevolod]] of the Western Eparchy of the [[Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the USA|Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA]], on [[April 8]], 2001. Deacon On September 29, 2003 he was elevated to a rank of protodeacon. Dcn. Bohdan was tonsured [[tonsure]]d as a [[monk]] in 2004, taking the new name of Andriy. Later that year, he was ordained to the priesthood [[priest]]hood by Archbishop Vsevolod and elevated to the rank of [[Hegumen]].
In October of 2004, the Ninth [[Sobor]] of the [[Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the USA|Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Diaspora]] nominated Fr. Andriy as bishop for Western Europe. During the Sobor, Metropolitan [[Constantine (Buggan) of Irinoupolis]], First Hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA and the Diaspora, elevated Fr. Andriy to the rank of [[Archimandrite]]. On [[November 22]], 2005 His All Holiness Bartholomew I and the [[Holy Synod]] of the Ecumenical Patriarchate unanimously elected him a Bishop for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Europe and the Diaspora with the title ‘Bishop of Krateia’.
Archimandrite Andriy was consecrated to the episcopacy on [[December 13]] , 2005 (the Feast-day of St. Andrew), 2004 at St. Volodymyr's Cathedral in Chicago. Concelebrating the consecration were Metropolitans Constantine of Irinoupolis and [[Nicholas (Smisko) of Amissos|Nicholas]] of the [[American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese|American Carpatho-Rusyn Orthodox Diocese]]; Archbishops Vsevolod of Scopelos, [[Anthony (Scharba) of Hierapolis|Anthony]] of the Eastern Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA, [[Yurij (Kalistchuk) of Toronto|Yurij]] of the Eastern Eparchy of the [[Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada]], [[Job (Osacky) of Chicago|Job]] of the [[Orthodox Church in America|American Orthodox]] [[Diocese of the Midwest (OCA)|Diocese of Chicago and the Midwest]], and [[Nicolae (Condrea) of Chicago|Nicolae]] of the [[Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese in America and Canada|Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese of the Two Americas]]; and Metropolitan [[Iakovos (Garmatis) of Chicago|Iakovos]] of the Greek Orthodox [[Metropolis of Chicago]], who represented the [[Church of Constantinople|Ecumenical Patriarchate]] at the service.
On Saturday, [[August 23]], 2008, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, at the Extraordinary Church Sobor of the [[Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada]], Bishop Andriy, along with Bishop [[Hilarion (Rudnyk) of Edmonton|Ilarion (Rudnyk)]] (elected as bishop of Edmonton and of the Church's Western Eparchy, was elected as ''Bishop of Saskatoon, and Vicar of the Central Eparchy''. This election is yet to be ratified by On [[February 1]], 2011, Bp. Andriy assumed the Holy and Sacred Synod responsibilities of ‘Acting-Bishop of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, but his Grace has moved to Canada in Eastern Eparchy of the meantime alreadyUOCC.
