Ivan Kurochkin was born in [[March 6]], 1955 in Ishim, USSR. He was [[baptism|baptized]] at St. Nicholas Church in Ishim.
After finishing school, he completed his compulsory military service. In 1977, he was [[tonsure]]d [[subdeacon]] by Bp. Maxim (Krokha) of the Moscow Patriarchate in Omsk. His spiritual fathers were Schemamonk Prochor, and Metropolitan [[Zinovi (Mazhuga) of Tsitsikar ]] (Georgian orthodox church). Between 1978 and 1982, he studied at the [[Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary|Moscow Theological Seminary]].
In 1982, Ivan was tonsured to the [[Schemamonk|small schema]]. He was [[ordination|ordained]] a [[deacon]] and then a [[priest]] by Bp. Maxim in Omsk. In 1983, he was elevated to [[Igumen]] and was appointed the confessor of the Omsk-Tiumen Diocese. There, Fr. Evtikhy served in a newly opened [[parish]] in Shablinkin, near Ishim.
Following the restoration of communion between ROCOR and the [[Church of Russia]] the [[Holy Synod]] of the Russian Orthodox Church on [[May 16]], 2007 appointed Bp. Evtikhy Bishop of Domodedovo, a vicar of the Moscow [[diocese]], and entrusted him with temporary pastoral care of the former parishes of the ROCOR in Russia for five years in accordance with the [[Act of Canonical Communion with the Moscow Patriarchate|Act of Canonical Communion]].
