Ecclesiastical History of the English People
(Redirected from Historia ecclesiastica gentis Anglorum)
The Ecclesiastical History of the English People (in Latin, Historia ecclesiastica gentis Anglorum ) is a work in Latin by the Venerable Bede on the history of the Christian church in England and of England generally.
The History includes many saints' lives as well as descriptions of other major events in English Christianity, and it is considered one of the most important primary sources on Anglo-Saxon history. It is believed to have been written in 731, when Bede was approximately 60 years old.
