Names of Bishops in the Church
Hi Magda, I really appreciate what you do ...you do a lot of awesome editing but I really have to disagree with 1 change you are making to the 'Metropolis of XXX' articles that I have created over the past few days. This issue I have is over-riding the link I set up for the Bishops. I have noticed that you include the Metropolis area as a title to their name Eg. His Emincence John (Black) of Area A and B. I dont agree with including the 'of Area A and B' part because that title could change with time. They may become a Metropolitan to another area perhaps and then the title would no longer be relevant. I think it suffices to just use their name with Surname in the brackets ..leaving the title out of it? What do you think? Is their something I dont know that I should know for the reason to include the title? -- Vasiliki 14:00, February 21, 2008 (PST)

The Martyrdom of Thirty Thousand Christians in Alexandria==Help needed==On this dayHello Magda, is I would like to bring to your attention problem with the commemoration article John (Zizioulas) of the martyrdom Pergamon where one of the thirty thousand Christians in users keep removing valid academic source to the city criticism of Alexandriathe J.Z. When Emperor Marcianus banished Pope Dioscorus to the island of Gagra, he appointed Brotarius, a Patriarchnot providing any valid academic reason for removal, in but rather expressing his placeown opinion on the matter. The bishops of Egypt refused to Since I know that user from Wikipedia and have a fellowship with him. They assembled a council against himexperienced his disgraceful behavior there, I am asking for help before situation ends up in the Council of Chalcedon, and the tome of Leoformal request for mediation (1just as happened there). Brotarius became raged and with the aid of the government forces he attacked and plundered the monasteries and churches. Then he confiscated all their endowments for himself and he became wealthy. Thieves attacked him during the night, killed him, and plundered what he had. His friends sent to the Emperor saying, "The followers of Dioscorus were the ones that killed the Patriarch that was appointed by the EmperorThank you."
The Emperor became furious and sent a number of his soldiersCebactokpatop 10:25, who killed about thirty thousand Christians in the city of Alexandria. March 5, 2008 (PST)
Shortly after, Marcianus died and was succeeded by Leo the Great. The bishops of Egypt seized this opportunity and ordained Fr. Timothy a Patriarch for Alexandria. Immediately the new Pope assembled a council and excommunicated the Council of Chalcedon. The heretics informed the Emperor saying, "Those who killed Brotarius ordained for themselves a Patriarch without permission from the Emperor." The Emperor was enraged and he exiled Abba Timothy and his brother Anatolius to the island of Gagra. They remained there for seven years until Emperor Leo the Less released them. After the return of Pope Timothy, he cooperated with Abba Peter of Antioch, and assembled a council of five hundred bishops in the capital. This council judged to refuse the Council of Chalcedon, and also affirmed the teaching of the unity of the natures of the Lord Christ. They also presented their report to the Emperor who approved it. The Emperor issued an edict that dictated to abide by this council report only. As a result, the Sees of Alexandria, Constantinople, Antioch and Jerusalem were united for a long time. ==Holy Sepulchre==
May Hmm, you're right about the prayers spelling of these fathers be with usSepulchre. AmenThat was bothering me throughout, but I didn't want to change the title of the article.Do you think it should be Americanized?
(1) This Tome was sent by LeoAs for what I did changed, bishop there were a number of Rome, to verbs in the Council history section of Chalcedon. It briefly stated that, "Christ the two, article in the God and the Man, camepresent tense (that were about past events). The first overwhelmed us with miracles, and the second received the humiliationsSo that's what I meant by present to past tense in history." Therefore I stopped after the Orthodox anathematized history section (except for changing annointed to anointed in the Council of Chalcedonnext paragraph), as Pope Dioscorus had anathematized the heresy of Eutychesso that's why you don't see changes throughout. Eutyches stated that the Human nature of Christ mingled with His Divine natureOh, and that the essence of the Divinity had suffered the passion of the CrossI also messed with what I thought was awkward wording once or twice. Please change anything you think needs undoing.
Pope Cyril Thanks for the kind words about my editing. I really need to start getting back on more. Honestly, I just don't have the free time that I did in college. Plus, my job requires me to sit in front of Alexandria a computer 8 hours a day, so when I get home I sometimes just want to get away from these machines!
