Saint Katherine College is a private, non-profit college of liberal arts and sciences that focuses on integrative teaching in core subjects in addition to instruction in major-specific requirements. The College is authorized by the California Bureau for Private Post-secondary Education (BPPE) to award Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees in twelve majors.   The college athletic department which began in Spring 2013 now supports 11 teams of SKC "Firebirds" including men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, and men's baseball. The majority of the student population are student athletes with Orthodox students comprising approximately 18% of the total student body as of 2014.
