Philoumenos is referred to in a brief biographical entry as ''"Orountiotis"'' however; this latter term in the Greek refers to his place his origin (i.e. "of the village of [[w:Orounta|Orounta]]") and not to his surname.</ref> (Greek: Π. ''' ''Φιλουμενος ο Κυπριος'' ''', also Π.
