==Life==
The future [[Bishop Petros]] was born in Naousa in Greek Macedonia. He received his tertiary education at the Theological Faculty of the University of Thessalonica from which he received his degree. Entering the [[Holy Orders]], he was [[ordination|ordained]] [[deacon]] in 1953 and served as [[archdeacon]] for [[Metropolitan]] Seraphim of Ioannina. After his ordination as [[priest]] in 1960, Fr. Petros served at the Metropolis of Veria (Verroea) and Naousa in Greek Macedonia. Subsequently he served as priest with the [[Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of North and South America|Greek Archdiocese of North and South America]] and with the [[Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Toronto (Canada)|Metropolis of Toronto]] at the Church of St. Demetius in Toronto, Canada under the jurisdiction of the [[Church of Constantinople]].[http://livingorthodoxy.com/page3.html]
He then transferred to the jurisdiction of the Church of Alexandria where he served as [[vicar]] in the Metropolis of Carthage. On [[February 22]], 2001, with the recommendation of [[Pope]] and [[Patriarch]] [[Petros VII (Papapetrou) of Alexandria|Petros VII]], Fr. Petros was elected bishop of the new [[Archdiocese of Zambia and Malawi|Diocese of Zambia]] by the [[Holy Synod]] of the Alexandria Patriarchate. On [[March 14]], 2003, Bp. Petros retired from the [[see]] of Zambia with the title of Bishop of Nikopolis.
