An [[archimandrite]], Fr. Paul was [[consecration of a bishop|consecrated]] the Bishop of Detroit on [[December 17]], 1928 by Metropolitan [[Platon (Rozhdestvensky) of New York|Platon]]. He was transferred to the [[see]] of Chicago in 1933 as the Bishop of Chicago.
