[[Bishop]] Panteleimon was born in 1974 on Tinos, an island in the Cyclades archipelago in the Aegean Sea. He completed his post secondary education at the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens and the French Institute of Athens, receiving a degree from each. In addition to Greek he speaks English, French, and Italian.
Entering the [[Holy Orders]], he was [[ordination|ordained]] a [[deacon]] in 2000 with the name Panteleimon. He was ordained a [[priest]], in 2001, and raised to the dignity of [[archimandrite]] by the Metropolitan [[Dorotheos (Stekas) of Syros|Dorotheos I (Stekas) of Syros]]. He subsequently served as preacher and Director of Services of the [[Metropolis of Syros, Tinos, Andros, Kea , and Milos|Metropolis of Syros]], under Metr. [[Dorotheos II (Polikandriotis) of Syros]].
In September 2006, Father Panteleimon transferred to the [[Church of Alexandria]], where he served in succession as Director of Developmental Works, Codicographer of the [[Holy Synod]], Director of the Private Patriarchal Office, and Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod. He also served as Member of the Patriarchal Commission of European Issues as well as represented the Church of Alexandria on the Inter-Orthodox Commission of Bioethics and the advisory body to the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Inter-religious and Inter-cultural Dialogue (KAICIID).
