Metropolitan Archbishop Metropolitan Archbishop is the highest rank of bishop under patriarch, in the Church of Antioch and All the East.

The Greek Church sees Archbishop as the highest episcopal rank under patriarch.

The Russian Church sees Metropolitan as the highest episcopal rank under patriarch.

The Patriarchate of Antioch retains good relations with all Orthodox jurisdictions throughout the world without wishing to favour one local custom over another.

To be quite clear, the term Metropolitan Archbishop is used in the Church of Antioch, for the rank of bishop immediately below patriarch.
