Sysop
Ideally, writing a full article with quotes embedded into the text would be best. But if you just want to include some quotations, perhaps a handful in a separate section would be good. I wouldn't get too crazy with it, though—maybe no more than a half dozen. — 17:21, 7 Jul 2005 (EDT)

Hi Joe,

I hope you don't mind, but I've knighted you a sysop. This will allow you some more flexibility in managing pages. AYour mission, should you choose to accept it, will also involve a slight bit of responsbility (don't worry) in keeping an eye on how things are going at OrthodoxWiki as a whole and helping to resolve any problems that arise. Please read OrthodoxWiki:Administrators when you get a chance.

If you send me your preferred email I can add you to the Yahoo group if you're interested. Mainly, this group serves to alert me of technical problems with the board and is also a place to discuss the occasional administrative issues that come up in way that allows a little more privacy than an owiki page!

I realize you're not Orthodox. We do generally prefer Sysops to be Orthodox, but a sysop degree doesn't endow teaching authority! We're happy about your commitment to OrthodoxWiki and all your work here.

Thanks, Fr. John

P.S. You don't need a cert on your blog. A self-signed cert is fine, but even that isn't necesary for the login area. Instead, you can consider changing the name of the Admin directory to something unpredictable (though I'm not sure how this will affect the integrated "edit" feature on blog posts) or else just make your password very secure and change it every now and then. I've been having my struggles with WordPress lately, though it seems to work well for many others. Other good options include ExpressionEngine and MovableType (though it depends what you want to do with it - neither of these is open source and there are other good open source options too, though I suppose you know all that anyway!).
