Our mother among the saints, '''Gorgonia the Righteous''', is known primarily through her eulogy given by her brother, St. [[Gregory the Theologian]]. She was the youngest daughter of St. [[Gregory Nazianzen the Elder|Gregory the Elder]] and St. [[Nonna]], and was known for her piety. She was married to Alypius and had five children. St. Gorgonia fell asleep in the Lord on [[February 23]], 375, at age 38.
