Even as an American citizen, French language is my mother tongue. We are 1.8 million French-speaking US citizens out of 300 million US citizens. Nevertheless, my close family roots go very quickly back to 14 different European nations from Russia to Scotland, from Greece to Germany, from Serbia to France and from Croatia to Austria or England (as all US citizens who are not Native-Americans, one must "come" from somewhere).
