On [[May 25]], 1994, Bp. Chrysostomos was elected Metropolitan of Zakynthos by the Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church. As bishop of the place of his birth, Metr. Chrysostomos developed a rich and personal relationship in the social and charitable activities of his metropolis. Among these activities were his participation, on [[November 12]], 2000, in the inauguration of a new wing of the Monastery of Strofades and St. Denis in the city of Zakynthos, which housed a museum, vestry, hostel, and maintenance workshops and, on [[August 22]], 2003, in the four day summer celebration of St. Dionysius, during which the metropolis received a visit from Patriarch [[Bartholomew I (Archontonis) of Constantinople|Bartholomew]] of Constantinople, which brightened the festivities.
In 2011, Metr. Chrysostomos resigned as the metropolitan of the [[see]] of Zakynthos. He was elected as Metropolitan of the see of Dodona (Δωδώνης). He was succeeded by Metr. [[Dionysios IV (Sifnaios) of Zakynthos|Dionysios (Sifnaios)]] as Dionysios IV who was elected his successor on [[October 7]], 2011.
