His Grace Bishop '''Silouan (Fotineas) of Sinope''' is a hierarch of the [[Ecumenical Patriarchate]], within the [[Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia]].
He was born in Brisbane, Australia, graduating from Brisbane State High School before graduating from [[St Andrew's Greek Orthodox Theological College (Sydney, Australia)|Saint Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College]] in 2001. In 2002, he was ordained to the priesthood in Brisbane, serving at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos, Mt Gravatt. Then, in 2006, he was elevated to the dignity of [[Archimandrite]] and appointed parish priest of the Holy Monastery of St Nectarios, Adelaide.
He serves on the executive council of the South Australian Council of Churches, and is a board member of the Greek Welfare Centre S.A.
Soon after the enthronement of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Fr Silouan was appointed Archiepiscopal Vicar of South Australia and the Northern Territory. In December 2019, he was elected assistant bishop of the Archbishop of Australia, with the ancient title of 'Bishop of Sinope'.[https://www.sbs.com.au/language/english/audio/australian-born-the-appointed-to-be-bishop-of-sinope] On 19 January 2020, he was consecrated to the episcopacy in the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, Sydney. In this, he becomes the first Eastern Orthodox hierarch to have been born in the state of Queensland.
