The '''Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America''' is a [[diocese]] of the [[Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia]]. Its territory includes [[parish]]es and missions located in mid-United States of America. The diocesan chancery is located in Des Plaines, Illinois. The diocese was founded in 1954 by the [[Holy Synod|Council of Bishops]] of ROCOR as the Diocese of Chicago and Cleveland. In 1957, the Diocese of Detroit and Flint was merged with the Diocese of Chicago that then was renamed the Diocese of Chicago and Detroit, and in 2007 it was renamed the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America.
The first ruling hierarch of the diocese was Archbishop [[Gregory (Borishkevitch) of Chicago|Gregory (Borisevitch)]]. The diocese is currently under the leadership of His Eminence, the Most Reverend [[Peter (Loukianoff) of Chicago|Peter (Loukianoff)]] after the retirement of His Eminence, the Most Reverend [[Alypy (Gamanovich) of Chicago|Archbishop Alypy (Gamanovich)]] was granted in 2016, due to his advanced age (89).  In 2005 was launched the [[Pastoral School of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America]].
