His Eminence Job (Kresovich) of Kazan was Archbishop of the Diocese of Kazan and Mari of the Church of Russia from 1953 to 1960. His tenure at the see of Kazan and Mari ended during the persecutions of the Khrushchev era.

Life

Little is known of the life of Abp. Job. He was consecrated a bishop in 1945 during Joseph Stalin's revival of the Church of Russia. He was appointed to lead the Diocese of Kazan and Mari in 1953. In 1959, Nikita Khrushchev initiated his campaign of church closures in the Soviet Union.

In 1960, Abp. Job was arrested, tried, and sentenced under charges of swindling and embezzlement in mid-1960, charges the Church maintained were a covered up for the real reason for his imprisonment of seven years which was his defiance of pressures on him to close churches in his diocese. Notwithstanding Abp. Job's defiance, the number of parishes were reduced, fifteen in the Tatarstan Republic and eight in that of Mari.

The date of his death is unknown.
