The '''Aromanian-Macedonian Church''' was an initiative to create an [[autonomy|autonomous]] church for ethnic [[w:Aromanians|Aromanians]] and [[w:macedonians|Macedonians]] during the brief existence of the [[w:Principality of Pindus and Voivodship of Macedonia|Principality of Pindus and Voivodship of Macedonia]] (1941-1944). Prince Alchibade ([[w:Alchiviad Diamandi di Samarina|Alchiviad Diamandi di Samarina]]) wanted to create an Aromanian Orthodox church under the [[jurisdiction]] of the [[Church of Romania]]. However, Prince Voivod Julius ([[w:Gyula Cseszneky|Baron Gyula Milvanyi Cseszneky de Milvány et Cseszneg]]), who himself was a [[Roman Catholic]], supported the idea of founding a Catholic church for the philocatholics among the Aromaniansand Macedonians, but the traditional identification with the Orthodox Church kept the majority of the Aromanians closer to Greek identitywhile macedonians preferred to join the [[Bulgarian Orthodox Church]]. The Aromanian church -Macedonian Church ceased to exist after the end of World War II.
